Meet the Founder, Emily.

Emily, a certified Pilates professional and University of Arizona graduate of Fine Arts, launched New Body with Emily in 2019 to create an online source specifically designed to help people move their bodies better each day.

Through easy-to-follow programs, and at-home videos, New Body with Emily teaches people how to organize their bodies for long-term strength and health.

New Body With Emily

Emily’s first passion was ballet. Early in her training she suffered a low-back injury and explored many avenues to achieve a pain-free body including home remedies, physician oversight, chiropractors, etc., none of which were sustainable.

Finally, she found Pilates training, which allowed her not only to recover from her injury, but taught her how to prevent future injuries by making small changes in the way she moved each day. This enabled her to continue her ballet training and earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona Fine Arts department on full scholarship. She was selected to perform in over 75 performances, making her a top athlete of the department.

Parallel to her dance training, she continued her Pilates practice by taking Pilates courses each semester which ensured her conditioning and injury prevention regimen.

After graduating with honors, Emily pursued a dancing career in New York City. Emily values what Pilates did for her and developed a passion to provide that knowledge to others. She returned to Tucson, and through the Ron Fletcher Program of Study, where she was able to study with Ron Fletcher himself, she earned qualification as a professional Pilates teacher and certification by the Pilates Method Alliance.

She has taught and contributed to the Pilates community since 2008. Emily opened New Body Pilates Tucson in 2016, a private session studio specifically designed for changing bodies – one body at time.

Some of her accomplishments include being on the cover of Pilates Style Magazine, a teaching model for Fletcher Pilates, and an ambassador for LuluLemon Athletica. Emily continues her passion for dance as the Vice President/Chair of Hawkinsdance, a non-profit dance company in Tucson, Arizona.
